Klopal has been responsible for Urakkamaailma’s technical side throughout its history. The collaboration has been both long term and successfull.

Urakkamaailma can, with good reason, be called one of the pioneers of the Finnish platform economy. It is also a great example of a startup that has succeeded well in scaling its service. There are already tens of thousands of users in Urakkamaailma. If measured by user count its definitely Finland’s largest Internet service that concentrates on building construction and renovation. Urakkamaailma has been part of Alma Media since 2017. Alma Media sees clear synergies between its Etuovi.com and Urakkamaailma.fi services.
Klopal was responsible for the development of the first version of Urakkamaailma already back in 2011. Development work back then was lead by Sebastian Haapahovi. After the first version newer, and more advanced, versions of the service have been released steadily. Main responsible for the development of Urakkamaailma’s later versions has been Klopal’s CTO Kalle Palokankare. The effectiveness of the collaboration between both parties has been acknowledged with delight also within the large media corporation.
Klopal is still our partner and they are responsible for the technical side of the service. Our collaboration is relaxed, nice and very efficient. Kalle has an incredibly holistic understanding of all of the key aspects. Design-, coding- and even business sense can all be found from his sharp mind.

Urakkamaailma has grown to be the most utilized method for finding contractors to private home renovations and housing cooperative contracts. The service has been part of Alma media since 2017.
